Rugby league convert Jarryd Hayne made the most of his second chance on Sunday, producing the best game of his fledgling NFL career in the San Francisco 49ers’ 32-17 loss at the Detroit Lions. Hayne, a two-time player of the year in Australia’s National Rugby League, was recalled to the injury-hit 49ers’ active roster after six weeks on the practice squad. Hayne was not tapped for punt-return duty — his primary role after he made the San Francisco roster to start the season.
