Teammates reportedly miffed Ndamukong Suh skipping Dolphins workouts (Shutdown Corner)

The Miami Dolphins have a mantra they’ve used frequently on social media for over a year: #StrongerTogether. It’s supposed to be a unifier, the belief that everyone working for the common good makes the whole better. It’s a pretty good motto, as mottoes go. But it’s not a mantra Ndamukong Suh believes in. Suh apparently believes in #StrongerAlone. As Dolphins players and coaches began voluntary veterans minicamp on Tuesday, the first under much-ballyhooed head coach Adam Gase, there were four defensive players not on the field: Koa Misi, who is sick but at the team facility , newly-signed DL Mario Williams, who is dealing with an “unforseen personal issue” , Reshad Jones, who is upset about his contract, and Suh. This isn’t the first time Suh has skipped voluntary workouts; while with the Detroit Lions, Suh was a frequent no-show. The $114 Million Man showed up for the first day of the Dolphins’ conditioning program earlier this month, but quickly left and went back to his own private workouts, at Nike headquarters in Oregon. The Miami Herald’s Adam Beasley reported that at least some of Suh’s teammates aren’t happy with him . Writes Beasley: “Teammates are privately steamed about the league’s highest-paid defensive player again doing what he wants — a recurring problem during much of the 2015 season.” Suh reportedly went off script during games last season, his first with Miami after signing his mega-contract, freelancing on the field and causing confusion among the rest of his defensive teammates. Good luck, Gase.
